Snow Storm Updated

Well here we are 5 days later .... it's getting deeper by the day, sometimes by the hour. The Word tells us to gives thanks in all things .... I have much to be thankful for during the depths of winter and I choose to turn my attention toward the blessings and mercies of God which are new every morning. I was able to get up on my own, shovel the driveway again on my own, feed myself, read the Word, meet and greet on Facebook, email, and now the Blogspot! I have a wonderful family both natural and spiritual. I have the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and I'm ready to leave this world when He calls me. There's food in the refrig and cabinets, clothes that keep me warm, utilities that are on, bills paid, and much, much more ... to include peace of mind. This is not a crisis that is without closure and it doesn't determine my value or purpose .... I am loved by God, family, and devoted friends.

Retirement is growing on me, both the good things and the challenges, but still I find it a blessing. In due course there may be a job for me somewhere part time, and full time if God so directs, but at the moment I am blessed to have time that has been offered by leaving a job of 20 years. I left on good terms and have no regrets or broken relationships (that I'm aware of).

God is good, all the time and He's drawing me to a closer walk with Him each moment I live. I want to close this by saying, what a friend I have in Jesus and His promises never fail (unlike the government). He is my provider, my salvation, my healer, my banner of love .... and ... He's coming again, .. soon!

What a shock!

Okay .... spent the past week in Phoenix (Chandler) with my daughter and family .... 60-70 degrees ... came home yesterday just in time for snow?!!!!

Whoa, what a shock to my system. Here's a few pictures to tell my story! The "spirit" is willing, .... but this "flesh" must die to what is happening around me! Is there no hope of ever living where it's not so drastic when it gets to be winter?

Focus on what's most important is what is "roaring" in my head, but these coats, hats, gloves, and snow shovels, are weighing me down .... help me somebody!

Moral or Political?

Politicians want us to believe that abortion is a matter of legalities (political). How do you get from immoral to become legal and justify murdering babies by the thousands .... it sells votes I guess to the immoral voters.
How do you vote? Is your candidate voting politically correct or morally correct (before God)? Are you choosing a candidate for economical reasons? How about health care reasons? Have you asked God about the moral priorities of your candidate?
God's Word says "choose life". The next time your candidate votes regarding abortion, find out what their values are and how they voted.
When we kill our unborn with the laws we pass, we should hang our heads and ask God to forgive us for putting anything else in front of the moral choice.

Delivered from the cold?

Now this is what I'm talkin' about! Yeah! Don't mind the physique ... it's warm, definitely sunny ... Hawaii 05, (not 50). Maybe, just maybe, sometime soon again .. Oahu, Kailua ... great beach, weather, friends ... and NO SNOW!
Hi to our Hawaiian Ohana .... Mahalo, and Aloha!

Welcome .. Hope you visit again

Thank you for visiting my blog .. not earth shattering, but some thoughts occasionally I like sharing. A few photo's will follow and some of my ideas, or thought for the day, and just where I am in life, ... hoping to share with others. As my family and possibly friend, let me say I look forward to our times together and love each of you. I value each of you and know it's God Who brings us together for a season and for our lives to be enriched and encouraged.

Please read the earlier posts if you have a moment and hopefully enjoy. I am not a daily blogger (as you can tell already) but hope to post again soon.

How Long Till Spring?

Here we are in the midst of winter, .. Christmas and New Years have past, .. snow everywhere, and I have the urge to "fly" south, at least somewhere warmer, BUT alas, I have grandchildren and I live with their grandmother ... she's not budging! I'm now finding ways to stay warm, thank God for a roof over my head, a warm bed, food to eat, and best of all, Godly family and friends. Thanks to all of you who care one for the other (me included).

Knowing God is perfecting those things that concern me, I expect to find some time in a warmer climate when He's ready for me to make the trip.

If in this life only we have hope we are of all men most miserable, and I'm not miserable ... I am confident of His gift of life and His promises for me, both now and in eternity .... guess what, .. I'm already living in eternity and so are you, but there will come a transfer to our final home, and I'm looking forward to that home that promises eternal comfort and joy, reuniting with loved ones. How about you? Are you living for Him, having accepted Him? Unless you personally accept the gift of forgiveness and life eternal, ... your home will not be in heaven ... the good news is, if you're still above ground and breathing, you have another opportunity to receive His free gift and choose to live for Him.

I pray that you know Him or will give your life to Him today!

On Retirement

Stroke, stroke .... get it covered and make it look good.

Well, you can see where I'm hanging out on my days of retirement! .. good news is, I'm actually glad to be doing something to improve the looks of the house. I now have the basement walls, inside and out, sealed and painted, as well as the front door landing. Glad it's done though!

At least this one I got to watch .... and it's paid for by our insurance as well ... yes!!

The wind storm last fall paid for this.

Now this is from our trip to Virginia, .... Jamestown. We did take a vacation after retirement and enjoyed some time away from chores, etc. The ships at Jamestown are really interesting, full of history. These are actually sea worthy.
